Recipe: Orange Juice, Peach & Almond Smoothie

Smoothies are a healthy and refreshing choice all year round, and this one has a summer feel, thanks to its warm colours.

Ingredients:

  • 1 C orange juice

  • 1 C frozen peaches
  • 1 frozen banana, chopped into small chunks
  • 2 TBSP toasted slivered almonds (or non-toasted if you prefer)

Directions:

1. Add the orange juice to the blender.
2. Add the banana and peaches.
3. Add the almonds.
4. Blend until the mixture is completely smooth.

As an alternative to almonds, pecan nuts also work very well. You could also try substituting pineapple juice for the orange juice for a tropical twist.
